Our editorial mission

Gorgeous Punjab aims to provide accurate, timely and useful journalism about Punjab and Punjabi communities around the world. We publish news, analysis, explainers, opinion and multimedia reporting in English and Punjabi.

Accuracy and verification

We verify material before publication using reliable documents, direct reporting, interviews and other credible sources. Headlines, images and summaries must accurately reflect the story. When facts cannot be independently confirmed, we clearly attribute the information and explain what remains uncertain.

Fairness and independence

Our editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, political parties and outside interests. We seek relevant responses from people or organisations facing significant criticism and represent competing views fairly. Fairness does not require giving equal weight to claims unsupported by evidence.

Sources and conflicts

We identify sources whenever possible. Anonymous sources are used only when the information serves the public interest and the source may face a genuine risk. Journalists and contributors must disclose conflicts of interest and should not cover matters in which they have a direct personal or financial interest.

Opinion and sponsored content

Opinion, analysis, fact checks and sponsored material are clearly labelled. Sponsored content does not receive influence over independent newsroom coverage.

Images, video and artificial intelligence

We do not knowingly publish manipulated media as authentic. AI-assisted work must be reviewed by a person before publication and may not be used to fabricate quotations, evidence or reporting. Materially altered or illustrative images should be clearly identified.

Corrections

When we make a material error, we correct it promptly and explain the change according to our Corrections Policy.
